Whatchya gonna do after a florence show when the only weenie bartender in your hotel (a French guy) won’t stay open to last call? Find a dive bar. Bar Hachi fits the bill perfectly. When we arrived, NOBODY was there and our driver was a bit concerned. We went in anyway. Great cocktails made by an enthusiastic young man who was not drinking for ramadan, but who really really wanted to learn some stuff. We had a blast.

A Corpse Reviver #2 is an excellent way to break in a new bar. It’s ALMOST done and looking fabulous.

It was a slippery slope from cleaning out the bar to a complete refactor of the living room.
Next came removing furniture, swapping couches, and re-imagining the art.
Couch shopping?!
New couch, new location.
Then came some shelves, replacing the mirror.
And a new TV mount, which accidentally caused a new TV (don’t even ask).
Then the new Romey approved color scheme. Which meant moving all of the glasses.
And all of the furniture.
This became that. And all the sudden everything was complete.
The new living room is somehow twice as big and is way more comfortable.

I’m pretty sure that gnomes just bring in random bottles of liquor. Every year or so, the big purge must happen. Here is the 2024 edition.
At least 30 bottles purged and many extraneous bottles consigned to the basement.
But just look at the result!
This is all part of the neighborhood living room revitalization project (slated to be done mid September.
