Now this is ridiculous.  Climate change is going to be way worse than anyone understands.

Summer Solstice 2019: Bodacious Bonfire

First a story of the lighting through the photography of Amy Barley.

And that is how you turn the sun.

Things looked pretty much like this before we started

Then there were several undocumented hours in the river with the special beer float courtesy of Aubrey. We’re still not sure where he is.

The most popular guest of all was baby Cora. (Yes, that is the three McGraw brothers in kilts.)

This shot by my brother walt (at his first solstice) is one of my favorites.

Spectacular

When the fire burned down enough to get within 100 feet, we started the music.

Joel Winstead created some great sketches in real time.

The the thunderstorm moved in around 11pm and we shifted the music to the barn. We played until 4am. What a joy.

There are a few more pictures on the evite page. Thanks to all who came to the 2019 summer solstice fire!

My kind of bar! Proletariat Bar, NYC. Superb beer, kind and knowledgeable service, and perfect conversation. DSCF0473DSCF0483DSCF0482DSCF0485DSCF0476

Jack Graduates Cum Laude from NYU

NY is always a blast to visit, but this trip was the most special NY run ever!  We are proud of our #1 son.

It was a super hot day to be in the direct sun at Yankee Stadium.  Fortunately, w all survived.

A second ceremony for the College of Arts and Sciences was held at Radio City the next day.

Sailing in New York City

Sailing was just what the doctor ordered on a sweltering day in the city (90 degrees in mid May!). Gorgeous and fun. Amy captained the boat under sail as we cruised up the Hudson.

Jack took the helm at the top of the ride.

Champagne!

No fun was had!  No fun at all.

Norway in a Nutshell: Bergen in a Leaf

Norway in a nutshell is a great way to see lots of a gorgeous country. It’s grueling though! We were on trains, boats and buses for 12 hours! Sadly, there is no beer on the boat until May 1st, so all future tourists make sure not to go to Norway in April.

This montage includes all legs of the Norway in a Nutshell trip plus our time spent in Bergen. We were joined by some great Norwegian friends for the last half of the trip. Conversation and laughter abound.

Norway is stunningly beautiful.

And then it was over to a very strange juxtaposition indeed. Maplethorpe is just a wee bit better than Munch, but don’t tell the Norwegiens. Judge for yourself.
