What a beautiful day Saturday turned out to be. The river was crystalline (and flowing fast), the beer was delicious, and the night was filled with fire and music. Joel Winstead captured the 2015 solstice party zeitgeist in some sketches.

For a Peacock, the rear is as important as the bright front, and just as amazing to watch in action!

Mr. P was all out last week on a warm day, but it’s a bit premature! He has some growing to do before he’s gonna impress a chick.

Odin is the new black kitty. One day he showed up on top of the recycle pile in the basement. Now he lives here.
Ike is the old man. He looks silly when he’s shaved for the summer. Dignity?

Newly shaved Ikey.
Mr. Pea was playing with Odin on the porch. Not the best angle, but this was amazing. The kitty was batting the crest on the top of Mr Pea’s head as he waggled it like a miniature blue bull fighter.

Mr Pea entertains Odin.

Three years ago I stole some miniature irises from April in NH. Flew them down in my suitcase and planted them the next day. They have finally come into their own.

Either that or he thinks he is the warden guarding bathroom prison. That makes me the inmate. Hmm.
