Decompressing at the Stick

After all of the planning, and then the actual event itself, we were ready to put our feet up. So we did.

The Stick with Göran, Anne, Noelie, Lisa, Rhine and April—hosted by the newly married McGraws! Late May is perfection at the beach. No people.

Oh yeah, the dogs came too. We rented a huge vehicle in Pittsburgh to cart everyone and all their stuff down.

Now back to those feet…

About the only complication was figuring out the state of the improperly-installed dishwasher. We built our own sign to signify state. It was good in theory. LOL.

As always, cooking was an important part of our beach time. Romey and Lisa made a delicious meal indeed.

The dogs felt left out.

The view from the porch leads to inner peace.

We did make a few cocktails.

Tranquility…unless you are a ball.

Just add more olives.

Starts like this…

Ends up like this. Thanks John and Joan!

Blade Runner First

A long standing tradition whose origin is lost to history is to watch Blade Runner with Eli as the very first movie of every year (of course, everyone else around joins in too).  2025 is no exception.  Must be approaching 20 years?!

But first is breakfast!

And then the movie.

The dogs are more interested in the fire.

Maybe Destroys Books

Bad dog.  Usually great dog but with a bad habit of destroying NYer magazines (too woke for her?  Is she a Republican?  Horrors.) and/or books from the book pile.  She does it when she is mad at us for leaving her home.

While we were here…

Maybeline was doing this…

What?!

Iulie’s Flowers

Iulie has grown, and so have her zinias. Last time we checked, they were about two inches tall.

The tree has grown too.

Of course we walked. Twice, in fact.

The dogs were hosed off and toweled “dry.”

Bubbie had some fun things to do.

There were fresh eggs (and lots of them). 18!

And, as always, there was the rope for swinging.

Up high.

Here they come.

Mama!

Maybe always wants in on the action.
